A bit about us
Acquired and reopened by Michael Ian Hales and Imagine Inns in November 2020, The Tal-y-Cafn stands proudly at a historic crossing point on the beautiful River Conwy.
Records show that there has been a hostelry on this site since 1438AD, providing shelter and sustenance to travellers, hawkers and drovers. In 2020, The Tal-y-Cafn remains a popular stop off point for travellers and a valued meeting place for locals. Our food menu combine locally sourced produce and dishes with recipes developed in Imagine Inns’ roots in Lancashire, England. Our drinks menu offers produce from a selected blend of local brewers and distillers with the finest beers, wines and spirits from around the world.
We sincerely hope to see you soon at The Tal-y-Cafn.

What People are Saying
“A Great Find”
Stopped here for lunch after spending a morning at the National Trust Bodnant Gardens. What a find! Great food, great staff, and great service. Once you step inside you are made to feel exceptionally welcome and the staff are very friendly, attentive and have a great sense of humour. I would highly recommend it.
A lovely pub, with beautiful views outside. We had breakfast here on our way home from our break in Wales. The staff were very accommodating and friendly, the breakfast was delicious and the coffee was perfectly made!
“Two Delightful experiences”
“Two delightful experiences at Tal Y Cafn. Friendly staff in a really modern well decorated restaurant. Fabulous menu options for both breakfast and dinner. The black pudding and poached egg starter was a stand out for me. They were also extremely helpful with allergens with lots of gluten free items and alternatives. All reasonably priced.
Food was excellent quality. Decorated beautifully, very warm and welcoming. Would highly recommend.
